Beach Scene — About This Work
Eugène Boudin, c. 1865–67
About the Work
Small groups gather on a windy beach: walking, talking, relaxing, and taking donkey rides.
Boudin’s low horizon gives the passing clouds and sky a large share of the composition.
The Cleveland oil painting is on wood panel, measuring 34.7 by 57.7 cm unframed.

Why Original Scale?
Most art-print shops offer the same image in a choice of Small, Medium and Large sizes. We take a different approach. For each edition, we begin with the recorded dimensions of the original work and reproduce the complete image at that scale, preserving its proportions and avoiding enlargement, reduction, cropping or distortion.
