Original Scale Edition

Utagawa Hiroshige, Picture of the Tenryu River near Mitsuke (Station 29), from the series Fifty-Three Stations of the Tokaido, 1833. Boats, travellers and a horse gather at the Tenryu River crossing, Hiroshige opening the Tokaido journey into a broad landscape of water, bank and misty trees.

Original artwork size: 34.6 × 22.3 cm (W × H)
Palatine presentation: 30 × 40 cm Classic Frame, landscape.

Most art-print shops offer the same image in a choice of Small, Medium and Large sizes. We take a different approach. For each edition, we begin with the recorded dimensions of the original work and reproduce the complete image at that scale, preserving its proportions and avoiding enlargement, reduction, cropping or distortion.

Frame finishes
Black, White or Natural.

Paper & glazing
Enhanced Matte with either Perspex or Moth-Eye glazing.

A considered presentation for every work. We assess each edition individually and recommend the frame, paper and glazing combination we believe best complements the work. Our recommendation is preselected when the page opens, but the choice remains yours.

Recommended presentation: Black frame + Enhanced Matte + Moth-Eye. We recommend a black frame to echo the inked contours and strengthen the contrast with the pale river bank. Enhanced Matte keeps the print surface quiet, while Moth-Eye glazing helps reduce reflections over the lighter water and paper.
